There is a rapid electrifcation of society Fossile fuels and internal combustion engines shall be replaced by electricity, electrical engines, and batteries. In recent years, there has been a breakthough for electric passenger cars and the development is fast. For heavy vehicles, like trucks and construction equipment, electrification is however more challenging since it disrupts existing roles and postitions in the established business ecosystem of road transport.
The project revolves around the electrification of road transports and its business implications. It addresses how electrification impacts different actors and enabels new business models and incitentives, and conversely, what changes is required in the business landscape and the transport infrastructurein order to facilitate the desired technology shifts to break through. Using comparative studies of different actors in the transport sector, the intention is to develop a deep understanding on how electrification can be utilized in the best possible way, as well as its effects on existing and future business models. As there is a strong technological development in this area, the doctoral student will work in at the interface between innovation management/business development, systemic innovation, and technological development.

To be admitted to postgraduate education (Chapter 7, 39 § Swedish Higher Education Ordinance), the applicant must have basic eligibility in accordance with either of the following:
Applicants must hold (or be in the process of obtaining) a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, or an equivalent degree. Furthermore, the applicant must have strong academic qualifications.

Target degree: Doctoral degree
Only those admitted to postgraduate education may be employed as a doctoral student. The total length of employment may not be longer than what corresponds to full-time doctoral education in four years ' time. An employed doctoral student can, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks within their role, e.g. training and administration. A new position as a doctoral student is for a maximum of one year, and then the employment may be renewed for a maximum of two years at a time.
