Job description

As a research engineer at the Division of Concrete Structures, you will work in an international research project TACK -Tunnel Automatic CracK Detection which aims at developing an autonomous inspection system for tunnels. You will work in an international team of scientist and assist with numerical simulations using the finite element method, analysis and handling of results including writing short reports. The work is carried out in close connection to an experienced scientist, but you are supposed to be able to work independently and take responsibility for your own work.

Qualifications

Requirements

A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in civil engineering or equivalent competence.

Candidates applying for this position should also be comfortable to work in a group and be able to communicate fluently in English.

As a person, you are used to work independently and are comfortable in taking own decisions and responsibility for your work.

You should have great knowledge within structural engineering and analysis especially in concrete structures.

Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality is a demand

Preferred qualifications

It is preferred that you have previous theoretical knowledge and practical experience from numerical simulations using the finite element method.

Previous experience in design of tunnels and shotcrete.

Previous experience from similar work.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
