Job description

The Quantum Nano Photonics group at KTH is inviting applications for a research engineer position in the field of superconducting single photon detectors development. You will work in an international team to develop quantum photonic devices operating at cryogenic temperatures based on supercondcuting nanostructtures. You will develop new devices to detect light with high efficiency, time resolution, low noise and implement them in various scientific instruments. You will be involved in European and international projects and will collaborate with leading research groups. The work will include nanofabrication, optical measurements and data analysis.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 
• Experience with optical measurements at cryogenic temperatures
• Experience with nanofabrication of devices based on superconducting nanostructures
• Experience with single photon measurements
• Experience with nanofabrication
• Experience with sputtering of thin superconducting films
• Collaborative abilities
• Independence

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with supervision of master students
• Experience with lab programming (Labview or equivalent)
• Experience with the operation of superconducting single photon detectors
• Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
