School of Engineering Sciences at KTH

Job description

The nonlinear quantum photonics group at the department of applied physics is offering a researcher position on the lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) platform, pushing forward the technology for ferroelectric domain engineering and high-confinement photonic circuits with the aim of gaining deeper insights into polarization switching mechanisms, demonstrating novel device concepts at photonic and ferroelectric nanojunctions and developing quantum optics experiments. An important part of the work is to support experimental activities of current national and international collaborative projects and assist in the training of MSc and PhD students in the group. The position is opened in the framework of the VR project “Integrated ferroelectric photonics”, with further opportunities for training and collaboration in the national initiative for quantum technology (WACQT).

The project will be conducted in the division for quantum and biophotonics at the AlbaNova University Center in Stockholm, in a dynamic and creative group, working in an international and collaborative atmosphere. Research activities of the unit are mostly experimental and often interdisciplinary. The project offers several opportunities for both curiosity-driven basic research and more applied technological development in nonlinear and quantum optics.

What we offer

  • A position at a leading technical university that generates knowledge and skills for a sustainable future.
  • Engaged and ambitious colleagues along with a creative, international and dynamic working environment
  • Work in Stockholm , in close proximity to nature
  • Help to relocate and be settled in Sweden and at KTH
  • An interdisciplinary and supporting work environment, that values teamwork
  • The possibility to take part in different research projects in quantum and nonlinear optics
