Job description

We aim to hire one laboratory technician (project 1) and one data-analyst (project 2). Both projects are for one month (August 2022). Please, indicate in the application which project you apply to and motivate how this project fits into your research interests, studies, and future plans.

1) Laboratory technician to analyse drug responses in cancer cells. The student participates in a project where drug responses in leukemia cells and Hodking’s lymphoma cells are investigated. The laboratory work includes cell culture, drug treatments and microscopy.

2) Data analyst to investicate functional genomic regions. The student participates in a project where molecular architecture of functional genomic regions is investigated. The project includes analyses of genome-wide data sets, including precision run-on sequencing (PRO-seq) and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP-seq). Previous data analysis experience and basic understanding of shell scripting and R is required.

Qualifications

Requirements

1) Project 1: Previous experience of cell culture and drug treatments. Good understanding of cancer research.

2) Project 2: Previous experience from genome-wide methods. Good understanding of functional genomic regions and genome-regulation. BSc level education in biomedical technologies or similar.

Qualification requirements for both projects:

We are looking for a person with good ability to learn. You should have ability to work in team but also show independence and flexibility. It is important that you have good spoken and written English, since this will be required in your daily work.

Preferred qualifications

  • 1) Project 1: Previous experience from culture of human leukemia and/or lymphoma model cells. Basic understanding of mRNA-seq and/or ATAC-seq.
  • 2) Project 2: Shell and R scripting.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency
