Job description

As an electronics engineer at the Division of Space and Plasma Physics, you will work with electronics from design, manufacturing, and testing to the use of instruments onboard sounding rockets and satellites. You will work with the researchers, engineers, and students at the division and KTH. You will also work with other national and international research groups, companies, and space organisations, including the Swedish National Space Agency, Swedish Space Corporation, and European Space Agency.

In your role as an engineer, you will be working with:

  • development of the electronics and related mechanical solutions to fulfill the scientific requirements,
  • testing of instruments, both electric and mechanic, including setup and documentation,
  • integration of instruments on sounding rockets and satellites,
  • contributing to teaching, for example, through laboratory classes and supervision of students.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree at an advanced level (higher education, MSc degree) in engineering physics and/or electronics or equivalent competence.
  • A solid interest in and knowledge of primarily analogue electronics, but also capable of working with digital electronics, programming and manufacturing of electronics.
  • You enjoy working in a challenging environment, both technically and timewise.
  • It is essential that you work well within a group and that you like to work alone and advance your work independently. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of the basics of mechanical design is preferred, since the instruments may include electromechanical systems.
  • A pedagogical mind to work together with students in the laboratory.
  • Since we work with many international partners, a good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, specifically focusing on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.

About the employment
