School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH

Job description

The Division of Health Informatics and Logistics is now looking for a Postdoc for a project in artificial intelligence aimed at clinical patient data from surgery. You will participate in research, development and validation activities together with a medical technology company and a university hospital. In the project, we develop methods for predicting hypotension, a sudden drop in blood pressure, in patients undergoing major surgery. The work involves developing and validating fully automated algorithms, methods, and software for this. Often based on machine learning, such as deep neural networks on waveform data from high-resolution physiological signals from patients. The goal is to improve the prediction to the degree where it becomes clinically useful in anesthesia/surgery. We work closely with Karolinska University Hospital to be able to validate the developed methods under real circumstances and according to actual clinical needs.

Within the framework of this postdoctoral position, you are expected to work with and contribute to research regarding artificial neural networks, sensor fusion, signal processing, noise reduction, etc. Up to 20% of the working time may be dedicated to research project management and submissions, and teaching support.

What we offer
