We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position in the general field of nuclear power safety. The successful candidate will join the Division of Nuclear Power Safety which conducts research on thermal-hydraulics and accident phenomena of risk importance to existing and future nuclear reactors, and also performs safety analysis for nuclear power plants, including design basis accident analysis and severe accident. The position is associated with the following sub-topic:
The successful candidate is expected to conduct analytical studies on (i) simulation of natural convection and heat transfer of lead/LBE cooled systems; and (ii) modeling of physical phenomena in steam generator tube rupture accidents, which is paramount to the design and evaluation of safety systems in an LFR.
