Job description

Our group is focusing on research paving the way for novel edge computing systems and applications, emphasizing challenges related to predictability, safety and security of edge systems and collocated mobile networks. This research agenda is facilitated through a world-leading research center on edge computing at KTH – TECoSA (https://www.tecosa.center.kth.se/) as well as a significant multi-year fund to establish an experimental research facility in the area of edge computing and mobile networks. We are seeking a research engineer who is willing to join our team and support our experimental testbed facilities on an operative level. The position will involve active support developing new features of the testbed, as well administrating it (maintenance, support of expansion).

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence
  • System and network administration skills
  • Software development skills in Python
  • Knowledge of Linux
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Independence

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with software defined radios
  • Experience with mobile networks
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernets
  • Experience with scientific experimentation
  • Experience with working in larger projects with different stakeholders

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competence and suitability.
