School of Industrial Engineering and Management at KTH

Job description

ITRL, the Integrated Transport Research Lab, will during the fall carry out a research project in collaboration with Västtrafik (responsible for public transport in the greater Gothenburg region) and Voi (micro mobility provider) to examine the interaction between electric scooters and public transport. More specifically, we will investigate trips done by Voi, and how the corresponding public trip would have been done. We will use Voi’s data and construct a trip planner to find the alternate public transport trip, and then compare the two modes of transport to see which options are available to electric scooter users.

Your task is to write a script that automatically extracts a public transport trip from a start and end point, in common terms a trip planner, and then analyse and write up the results in collaboration with your manager. Continuous meetings with Voi and Västtrafik will be planned to ensure the relevance of the specific research questions, the method and to further analyse results.

The position is offered as 50 % part-time employment, meant to be carried out in parallel with your studies. You work from ITRL and the project is planned for the autumn of 2022, but could be extended depending on the results of the project.
