School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at KTH

Job description

Next-generation 6G cellular systems will provide unprecedented capabilities in order to serve dependable data communication streams, as for example originating in industrial automation. While this application domain has received some attention in 5G, cyber-physical networking capabilities will be at the heart of upcoming 6G systems. A central cornerstone of such 6G systems will be the notion of predictability of integrated wireless/wired communication and compute network routes.

Our research group has a decade-long track record in leading academic research with real-world impact in the area of industrial wireless networking. We typically combine fundamental research work (leveraging methods from communication and queuing theory) with experimental testbed development and trials. We are now looking for an outstanding individual interested in preparing a future academic or industrial leadership career in the area of 6G networking for industrial automation. Beyond performing and leading excellent research in this domain over the next years, we will also expect from you to integrate with a strong KTH team as well as with external stakeholders in joint projects and research centers.
