Job description

Professor Tuuli Lappalainen's research group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a computational project focusing on the functional effects of genetic variants in humans. The project(s) may build on existing research projects and data sets in the lab or ongoing collaborative efforts. The postdoc may also propose and pursue their own ideas that fit the lab's general research program (see https: //tllab.org). Dr. Lappalainen is the Director of the National Genomics Infrastructure of SciLifeLab and an Associate Faculty Member at the New York Genome Center, and the incumbent will work closely with these teams.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Research expertise in the analysis of human genetic data
  • Strong publication record
  • Experience and skills in analyzing large-scale genomic data sets

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • We would appreciate a track record demonstrating good collaboration skills and independence
  • Awareness of diversity and equality issues with a particular focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
