This project aims to the development of bio-based and high-performing polymeric barrier materials for packaging solutions of fiber raw material. We further aim to understand and model structures and properties during production, use, and recycling.
The scientific objectives are: i) Devising feasible and sustainable pathways for the production of barrier materials, ii) integration into packaging solutions, and iii) in-depth understanding of structural and chemical relationships that govern the performance of the materials during application, use and in the recycling process.
Work tasks include laboratory and analytical work, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating syntheses and materials, as well as written and oral presentation. The project is a Vinnova-financed collaboration between KTH and several companies and provides a great opportunity to work in a network within academia and industry in Sweden.
