Postdoc in pressurized pyrolysis of biomass. - Hiring in process/Finished, not possible to apply

Job description

In this Postdoc position, you are expected to research upon high-pressure pyrolysis. You will conduct experiments both in lab and pilot scale reactors following a systematic plan that will enable design of full-scale biomass conversion facilities. You will also contribute to ongoing research activities within biomass pyrolysis and gasification. The position is funded by a large nationally funded project where the aim is to utilize waste heat in biomass conversion processes. You will perform pyrolysis of biomass in pressurized conditions and characterize the products generated. Suitable design conditions to integrate the process with waste heat source will be identified. Finally, a design of upscaled unit will be proposed. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with industry and other research partners. In this position, you will work together with Klas Engvall (Professor), Shareq Mohd Nazir (Assistant Professor) and Christer Rosén at the Department of Chemical Engineering, CBH School, KTH.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made
• Research expertise
• Laboratory experience related to gasification or pyrolysis of biomass.

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
• Research background in the topic of biomass gasification or pyrolysis
• Experience with characterization methods
• Ability to collaborate with different research teams in addition to performing independent research
• Teaching abilities
• Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
• Collaborative abilities
• Independence
