Job description

System identification treats how to construct models of dynamical systems from measurements. The topic is multi-disciplinary, including mathematical statistics, machine learning, and systems and control theory, while applications can be found in areas as diverse as mechanics, vehicles and biotechnology.

The candidate is expected to contribute to the division's projects in the area of system identification, in particular the development of kernel methods, and the theoretical analysis of these. It is also expected to contribute to application-oriented projects such as, e.g., data-driven modeling, optimization, and control for the production of biopharmaceuticals by way of mammalian cell cultures.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, with system identification as specialization, or a nearby area. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline

  • Research expertise is of key importance, but also teaching ability, collaborative abilities, independence and awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality will be considered.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.

About the employment
