Job description

The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary research team focused on research questions related to natural killer (NK) cell and T cell mediated immunity, and the application of these cells in cancer immunotherapy. The candidate will use microchip single cell screening and advanced fluorescence imaging to study the how antibody-based drugs influence target cell recognition, dynamics of immune synapse formation and cytotoxicity. The position is part of a collaboration where the applicant will be responsible for performing experiments and develop new analysis methods, contribute to research articles and reports to granting agencies. It will also be possible to be involved in project supervision and undergraduate teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated candidate with documented research expertise in relevant fields. The candidate should be able to work independently on research projects. Since the applicant will work in a multidisciplinary environment collaborative abilities and good communication skills are important. It is important to have awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality. 

Requirements

  • An undergraduate education in immunology, cell biology, biotechnology or similar.
  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Practical experience from cell and tissue culture, isolation of primary cells from blood or tissue, lab-on-a-chip technologies and microscopy.
  • Published or submitted paper(s) in peer-reviewed journal(s). 

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice is valued.
  • Documented ability to inform about research and development work, for example through presentations at scientific conferences is highly valued.
  • We prefer that you have documented teaching experience and ability.

About the employment
