Job description

Our group at the Division of Robotics, Perception, and Learning has long experience working on manipulation and grasping. In recent years, a large focus has been on manipulating deformable objects, examining methods of modeling both the objects and the interaction with the robot. We now plan to continue this work and expand it to include deformable and suction-based grippers. We are looking for a post-doctoral researcher to be a part of this new effort.

The job will entail:

-Research, development and evaluation of grasp quality assessment techniques for soft and deformable grippers.

-Collaboration with researchers who focus on grasping and manipulation, as well as supervision of PhD and master students.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Research expertise with background in at least one of the following areas: robot manipulation, grasping, mechanical engineering, industrial automation; and a willingness to enhance your knowledge in the remaining areas.
  • Collaborative abilities, allowing you to work as a part of an interdisciplinary research team.
  • Independence, allowing you to lead your own original line of research.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with a specific focus on gender equality.."

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience with robot integration, ROS, and Python.
  • Experience working with robot hardware.
  • Experience with soft and/or continuum robots.
  • Project leadership and management abilities.
  • Teaching abilities

About the employment
