Job description

We are looking for a motivated research assistant who can help us to administrate and moderate a LinkedIn Show Case page, reach out to researchers and scout for interesting research news in the digitalization domain, and support the communication work of the research.

Digitalization is penetrating more and more all facets of our daily life. Digitalization technologies enable great opportunities to enhance processes and services. Societal transformations are driven by technology developments such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, big data, machine learning, cooperated systems, 5G & beyond, industry 4.0, eScience, eHealth, digitised education, digital twins, CPS & IoT, smart cities, smart homes, smart grids, smart society etc. It is also foreseen to act as enabling technology to work towards the UN's SDGs and tackle societal challenges such as climate warning, improved health and transportation services, smart grids but also new emerging areas such as in the building industry. However, digitalization technology also introduces new threats to society due to ICT dependency, cyber-physical security, privacy, fairness and transparency in automated decision making/AI. Such ethical aspects need to be taken into account in the development to ensure trust in the technology.

KTH is a leading research university in this area with significant research efforts at all schools. The KTH Research Platform on Digitalization wants to contribute to enhancing the visibility and recognition of all the interesting activities happening at KTH in this area. Jointly with the communication department, we therefore plan to launch a LinkedIn Show Case page on Digitalization where we will share research results, projects, activities, opportunities and events in the Digitalization domain happening all over at KTH. This page will be jointly launched with the KTH Communication department. We will establish a network with researchers from all schools, departments and centres who will provide tips on latest results and activities. Lastly, the envisioned LinkedIn page will be operated by KTH Communicators and the KTH Digitalization platform. The role of the research assistant will be to support this activity by taking over various tasks.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • You should be admitted to first or second-level cycle education.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of digitization technology, demonstrable with previously studied courses and/ or engagement on the theme
  • English level C1 or higher, as this will be required in day-to-day work

Preferred qualifications

  • Student at KTH
  • You should have completed at least 120 ECTS of university credits
  • Previous experience with strategic and editorial content production
  • Self-leadership and ability to work independently is important competence for the job 

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
