School of Architecture and Built Environment at KTH

Job description

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering is looking for a Postdoc researcher to the Division of Constructional Engineering and Design.

Advanced digital tools, such as machine learning (ML) and demand response for hybrid energy system complex, will play a vital role in the transition toward low-energy buildings and decentralized renewables in local energy communities (LEC). You will join an exciting research team and interdisciplinary EU project to develop and apply ML techniques and dynamic simulations to optimize the operation and design of the future energy systems of LECs, such as coupling the 5th generation of district heating with building HVAC and the power grid. You will perform complex energy system simulations integrated with developed ML methods, as well as testing the developed solutions in multiple live-in-labs across Europe. You will work closely with a large number of industry partners, PhD students and other researchers to manage project deliverables. Additionally, you will also be expected to perform limited percentages (maximum 20 %) of department duties, i.e., teaching, supporting PhD students, supervision of thesis students, etc.

What we offer
