Job description

We are offering postdoc positions in the area regulation and engineering of carbon fixation in photosynthetic microbes. Current research program involves projects in sequence-driven mutagenesis of enzymes and regulators, screening of mutant pools using novel cultivation and sorting platforms, and characterization of mutant strains using proteomics and metabolomics infrastructure. The postdoc(s) will work closely with, and advise, graduate students. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the research program, postdocs with experience in any of these areas are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • You have demonstrated scientific excellence in the form of publication in research journals
  • You have demonstrated independence in design and execution of research
  • You have demonstrated ability to collaborate within a research team
  • You have expert knowledge in cell metabolism or photosynthesis

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Experience in systems biology data analysis software, such as R or MatLab is a merit
  • Knowledge or experience with machine-learning techniques is a merit
  • We prefer that you have experience in teaching or training undergraduates in laboratory or computational techniques
  • We prefer that you have awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
