This is an employment as doctoral student within the research project “Central and peripheral visual function with multifocal corrections” with the aim to increase the knowledge on how different types of multifocal lenses affect our vision. The research has applications within the design of optical corrections to either achieve good vision at different distances for presbyopia, or to reduce the development of myopia in children. The project includes: (1) improvement of our existing adaptive optics system to measure and control the image quality of the eye in different parts of the visual field, (2) development of software to evaluate different visual functions, and (3) performing measurements of central and peripheral visual function with different levels of optical errors. The candidate should have a broad knowledge of optics as well as experience in laboratory work and programming (e.g. in Matlab).
