The division of Organic Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry is now looking for a Postdoc who will work together with Assistant Professor Fredrik Schaufelberger.

The position is located at the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health (CBH) at KTH.

Job description

The supramolecular chemistry group at KTH studies the use of artificial molecular machines for applications in biomedicine and for creation of stimuli-responsive biomaterials. This project concerns development of new water-soluble molecular machines to create smart drugs and drug delivery systems.

The position involves synthesis of molecular machines and integration of these with biological systems, including experimental design, data analysis and organization, as well as reporting of results in a scholarly way. Furthermore, the postdoc is expected to assist supervision of junior group members, handling of practical group routines, and provide some technical assistance to the Division of Organic Chemistry in activities related to research.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
• Well-documented research expertise in supramolecular chemistry and synthetic organic chemistry
• Good oral and written English communication skills, since it is required in the daily work.

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
• Previous experience in working with molecular machines
• Previous experience in working with biocompatible molecules and materials
• Previous experience in organic photochemistry and photoresponsive molecules.
• Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Personal competency

We are looking for candidates with good collaborative skills. You are also independent in your work and take initiative when needed. Good teaching abilities are also preferred. 

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
