Job description

The successful applicant will work within the EC-funded DECICE project (https://www.decice.eu/) on developing an AI-based, open and portable cloud management framework for automatic and adaptive optimization and deployment of applications in a federated infrastructure involving edge devices. The framework relies on holistic monitoring to construct a digital twin of the system topology and the deployed applications to reflect all components and characteristics of the system, which then enables an ML-model to reach good scheduling decisions in regard to throughput and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Master in Computer Science or similar     
  • Experience in software architecting and engineering
  • Research expertise
  • Teaching abilities
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Independence

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Background in cloud and edge architectures

Great emphasis will be placed on personal competency.
