Job description

We seek research engineers and/or computer scientists to join us at the KTH MoveAbility Lab. The tasks consist of measuring and analyzing human movement using 3D motion capture, inertial measurement units (IMUs), and depth sensing cameras.  Duties may also include creating and training machine learning algorithms to estimate movements. Specific tasks may include:

  • Post-processing of captured experimental data from the lab. The data consists of 3D movements, kinetics, EMG and IMU information.
  • Contribute to the lab’s control database of human movements
  • Perform simulations of movement with OpenSim
  • Work with a machine learning algorithm that adjusts movement data from iOS devices
  • Assist with experiments and data capture both in and outside of the lab

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:  

  • You must have completed a bachelor’s level degree or equivalent competence in medical engineering, biomechanics, mechanical engineering, technical physics or other relevant area.

Experience and skills:

  • Knowledge of human movement biomechanics via coursework or experience        
  • Experience with OpenSim       
  • Knowledge in machine learning via coursework or experience       
  • Proficient in Matlab programming
  • Independence and drive to work on projects alone, even if senior researchers are not on site

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in human movement capture and analysis
  • Experience in writing technical reports in English
  • Previous experience with ARKit
