School of Architecture and Built Environment at KTH

Job description

The work consists of conducting life cycle assessments (LCA) of a variety of sport and outdoor products (for example, bicycles, workout clothes, electronic devices) as part of a research project aiming to study the climate impact of consumption patterns related to sport and outdoor products. The focus is on participants of events: both travel and consumption patterns in direct connection to the event as well as consumption connected to preparation and training before events. Since climate impacts from sport and outdoor products have only been studied to limited extent, the results will be important research contributions. The variety of products that will be studied will require making simplifications to the LCAs. This simplification requires well-founded decisions to strike a balance between level of detail and accuracy of results.

The applicant will be in charge of communication and data collection from contact persons at a variety of sport and outdoor brands. Further work tasks include organizing data and results analyses in a systematic manner and potentially contribute to the writing of scientific articles.
