Third-cycle subject: Applied physics
Continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CV-QKD) is a well-established technology to distribute secret keys, with several similarities with coherent optical communications, but requiring special consideration of noise aspects and advanced knowledge and engineering skills in the generation, manipulation and analysis of squeezed states of light. Within this project you will investigate the integration of CV-QKD into a metropolitan network and contribute to the development of novel solutions for long-distance quantum communication, such as twin-field QKD. You will work in the Nonlinear and Quantum Photonics group at KTH AlbaNova, leading experiments on quantum photonic devices and systems for information and communication technologies. The position is supported by the EuroQCI National Quantum Communication Infrastructure in Sweden (NQCIS) and the Wallenberg Center for Quantum Technology (WACQT), a 12 years’ initiative with the purpose of advancing Swedish academia and industry to the forefront of quantum technology.
