Job description

The division of Biophysics is located at Science for Life Laboratory, where the team develops some of the world’s most used tools for modelling biological systems with particular applications to membrane proteins and techniques for drug design. We are looking for a researcher to work on programming, maintenance, steering and project leadership within the development of the software code GROMACS for molecular dynamics simulations. The duties involve development of methods to apply simulations, in particular to membrane proteins, programming in C++ and for accelerators, as well as taking responsibility for organizing meetings and leading work packages with EU projects. The work will include collaboration and conference travel, in particular in Europe.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree in Biophysics or related fields
  • Research experience in Biophysics, in particular proteins and molecular dynamics
  • Experience of programming in modern C++
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English since it is required in the daily work

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience from authoring scientific publications
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice
  • Experience from multinational projects

  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • A good command of written and spoken Swedish

About the employment
