Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electric Power System
The subject includes the analysis, design and operation of electric power systems with large amounts of renewable power generation. This includes building of power transmission system, power system stability, electricity pricing, voltage regulation as well as regulation and planning of power production. The subject also includes the connection between technology and the electricity market, the impact of financial regulation on the power system operation, and the integration of flexible power loads and productions such as electric vehicles and batteries.
The duties include research, supervision of PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, and teaching at third cycle level. Furthermore, teaching at first and second cycle levels in courses within the subject field given at the department and widely across KTH is included. The associate professor is expected to build (and lead) a research group within the subject field, and acquire research funding. The associate professor is also expected to participate in the first and second cycle education organization at the school through tasks such as director of studies, program manager and the like.
