The Division of Decision and Control Systems seeks two passionate postdocs with expertise in control systems, mathematics, machine learning, and modeling. Join us in a novel project focused on creating advanced mathematical and computational tools for robust and adaptable predictive maintenance algorithms with a particular emphasis on pump stations. The work is supervised by Professor Henrik Sandberg and assistant professor Matthieu Barreau. You will collaborate with industry leader Xylem and Stockholm Vatten och Avfall, gaining access to real-world data and pumps. This is an opportunity to develop theoretical tools addressing a concrete issue for a more sustainable future.

The Division of Decision and Control Systems conducts fundamental research in learning for control and system identification among others. Industrial projects involve partners such as ABB, Ericsson, and Scania. A major part of the research is conducted in EU-projects in collaboration with European industry and universities. We have a large academic network and collaborate with researchers at Caltech, MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford, among others.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Significant, documented research expertise in networked control systems, cyber-physical security, and/or game theory.
  • We are looking for candidates who are strongly motivated, able to work independently, and with very good collaborative abilities.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Teaching abilities and documented supervision of student work is commendable.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality is commendable.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
