Job description

The Division of Theoretical Chemistry and Biology (TCB) conducts applied theoretical research in several important areas including catalysis, spectroscopy, nanoparticle sciences, supramolecular chemistry, and biochemistry. This research is solidly anchored in real-world activities at the research forefront through our wide network of local, national, and international experimental research groups.

This position targets the simulation of optical responses from protein systems. This applied computational chemistry project should be an integrated component with the division software development efforts, addressing quantum molecular modeling in high-performance computing environments.

Research duties include network collaboration with DTU, Denmark; attending network meetings and report on research in presentations and reports

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
• Expert knowledge of computational chemistry
• Excellent skills in oral and written presentation of research 

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
• Teaching abilities
• Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
• Collaborative abilities
• Independence
