Job description

You will work with research projects within Applied Urban Design. Duties comprise research in collaboration with municipalities, performed with spatial analysis – including Space Syntax – and accessibility analysis, where digital tools such as GIS are needed. This means that you have to be well acquainted with tools for analysis as well as handling municipal data, and be able to operate them, in order to apply the results in a broader context. Duties may also comprise teaching at the advanced level (maximum 10 %), and some support in supervising doctoral students.

The employment comprises 60 % of full time, during 5 months (January 1, 2024 – May 31, 2024), and refers to participation in research in collaboration with other project participants.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in architecture, specialized in urban design, or an equivalent foreign degree.
  • Experience of research at postdoctoral level within spatial analysis, and handling municipal data.
  • Ability to operate spatial analysis, including Space Syntax, and digital tools, such as GIS.

Preferred qualifications

  • Research expertise within the field, in combination with independence and collaborative abilities.
  • Teaching ability, documented through teaching within the field of urban design.
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice.
  • The ability to inform about research and development work.
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff.
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
