The Swedish process industry has a long history of transformation and is at the forefront of transitioning towards a sustainable future. The notion of the circular economy although recently discussed as novel although some key components such as recycling has been common in the Swedish process industry. Thus, there are both new and old friends in the transition towards the circular economy. Through a generous grant from Marianne and Marcus foundation ( MMW 2023.0056) the aim of this doctorial project is to analyse to what extent the Circular economy has taken root in the Swedish process industries. The project focuses on circular business models and circular supply chains and is guided by the following questions:

The applicant must have a civil engineering or masters degree with specialization in industrial economics and management or equivalent. In addition, the applicant should strong academic record.

Only those admitted to postgraduate education may be employed as a doctoral student. The total length of employment may not be longer than what corresponds to full-time doctoral education in four years ' time. An employed doctoral student can, to a limited extent (maximum 20%), perform certain tasks within their role, e.g. training and administration. A new position as a doctoral student is for a maximum of one year, and then the employment may be renewed for a maximum of two years at a time. In the case of studies that are to be completed with a licentiate degree, the total period of employment may not be longer than what corresponds to full-time doctoral education for two years.
