Job description

The research group at the unit of Structures in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering offers a two-year postdoctoral position, with focus on materials design for additive manufacturing (AM) of metallic materials. The successful candidate will be part of a research focusing on integrated computational tools for the design of metallic materials. The focus is on the microstructure development during AM and how process conditions and chemical composition affect.

The position is associated with the following subjects:

  • Development of calculation strategies to study effects of grafting of material during AM
  • Modeling of solidification structures and the development of microstructures during AM

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Doctoral degree in materials science, materials physics or a related field.
  • Extensive experience of computational tools for material modeling, programming and ability to develop own models.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.

About the employment
