Urban Transport Planning.
The subject covers the design and organization of transport systems in cities to ensure efficient, safe and sustainable movement, with a focus on human mobility. It involves using data and modelling to develop strategies that improve mobility, accessibility and overall quality of life in urban areas, meeting the needs of the population while minimizing environmental impact and congestion.
The associate professor is expected to teach urban transport planning at first, second and third cycle level. This means, among other things, being a course responsible teacher, examiner, developing courses, contributing to the operation and further development of subject-related education programs in collaboration with the industry and being a supervisor for degree projects. Administrative tasks are also included. Other important tasks include conducting research in the subject area, being the main supervisor and assistant supervisor for doctoral students, developing KTH’s research, applying for research funding and being a project manager. The associate professor is also expected to collaborate, both within KTH’s academic environments related to research and teaching and with societal actors. The associate professor is expected to be able to teach in Swedish.
