Job description

The division of Biophysics is located at SciLifeLab, where the team develops some of the world’s most used tools for modelling biological systems with particular applications to membrane proteins and techniques for drug design.

We are looking for a researcher to mainly analyze and compile results from the LIGATE EU project. The tasks will also involve further development of the workflows, to simplify large scale execution of molecular dynamics simulations for drug development, that were created during the EU project. The employment will run for three months.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree 
  • Research expertise in biophysics, especially molecular dynamics simulations, and in particular analysis and compilation of data.
  • Experience in programming.
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilized in practice.
  • Good collaborative abilities as well as independence.
  • The work requires excellent command of written and spoken English, since this is used in the daily work. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience from programming in Python as well as Bash scripts.
  • Experience from distributed software development, such as code reviewing and version management systems, is meritorious.
  • Experience from running molecular dynamics simulations at large scale, for example in an HPC environment.
  • Good pedagogic skills are desirable as well as the ability to inform about research and development work.
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff.
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
