Job description

The PDC Center for High Performance Computing is a Swedish supercomputing centre within NAISS (National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden) hosted at KTH. It operates stateofthe-art computational and storage resources. Dardel is currently the fastest academic computer in Sweden, with four petaflops on the CPU partition and eight petaflops on the GPU partition. For more information, go to https://www. pdc.kth.se/.


PDC is looking for a research engineer to help with several of the following tasks 
• Act as support coordinator of PDC.
• Answering support questions from the PDC's users.
• Communicating with PDC's system staff and application experts to find answers to more advanced user questions.
• Be responsible that support requests are handled in a timely manner.
• Participating in the PDC user support team meetings.
• Writing and testing documentation for PDC's resources.
• Installing and testing software on PDC resources.

Qualifications

Requirements

A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in Computer Science or in a field that uses supercomputers. Some knowledge of large calculations and simulations is required. Prior experience using PDC's systems is an advantage, for instance, through previous attendance at the PDC Summer School or having used the PDC systems in other ways. Previous experience in HPC support is a big plus. You need to be able to use Linux-based systems and communicate in English with ease.

It is also essential that you can work independently and that you are capable of interacting effectively within the group. If you are the kind of person who takes the initiative when things need to be done, that will be a definite plus!
