Job description

We are looking for a highly-qualified and motivated research engineers in getting hands-on research experience in the area of Machine Learning and Robotics. The research engineers will join a research team at the Division of Robotics, Perception, and Learning (RPL) led by Professor Danica Kragic. The project involves the development of state-of-the-art machine learning techniques applied to robotic applications. The research engineers develops robot software, collects data, devise machine learning algorithms to acquire complex robotics skills through interaction and learning.

Potential projects include soft object manipulation or EEG-related application or graph neural network (GNN)-related application.

Supervision: The research engineers will be supervised by Professor Danica Kragic and Dr. Michael Welle.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence.
  • Excellent software development and integration skills in Python and C/C++.
  • Experience with dynamic NERF models
  • Experience in Robotic Operating System (ROS)
  • Solid mathematical and deep learning background.
  • Experience in deep learning algorithms and libraries, e.g., PyTorch and TensorFlow. Excellent writing and communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • You work independently and have no problem collaborating with other people.
  • Well awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
