Job description

Sustainable conversion of bioethanol into high-value C4+ chemicals is a crucial step towards reducing reliance on fossil-derived resources. In this project, you will play a crucial role in advancing the bioethanol conversion technologies for future biorefineries. The work includes designing and conducting comprehensive chemical reaction studies using novel heterogeneous catalysts and utilizing advanced modeling techniques to optimize catalytic performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for the development and design of catalytic reactors tailored to these specialized conversions, ensuring scalability and efficiency in future biorefinery operations. The work is a part of CROSS project funded by the Bioplus programme of the Swedish energy agency. Read more here.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made
  • Previous experimental experience in catalytic reaction engineering and heterogeneous catalyst characterization
  • Excellent knowledge of English, both spoken and written. This since you have to use English on a daily basis
  • Collaborative abilities and independence.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Mathematical modeling skills (e.g MATLAB, Julia, Python, FORTRAN etc.)
  • Teaching and supervision abilities

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, three years.
