Job description

The successful applicant will develop digital twins in the area of biodiversity research and support the use of a technical platform for these digital twins within the EC-funded BioDT project. The goal of this project is to push the current boundaries of a predictive understanding of biodiversity dynamics by means of digital twins that feature advanced modelling, simulation, and prediction capabilities. The work will involve the design, implementation, code porting, (performance) testing, and demonstration of the digital twins. The primary system for the demonstration will be the LUMI EuroHPC computing facility.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in computer science, high-performance computing or similar, or equivalent competence. 
  • Good programming and software engineering skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Parallel programming skills
  • Background in computer architectures, performance analysis and performance engineering
  • Ability to work independantly
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
