Job description

The applicant will participate in research on attitude determination and control through both simulations and experiments, which include the development of software and hardware. The work also involves integrating the research into education at the advanced and doctoral levels to increase the relevance of the education. This part includes supervising students at the advanced level.

The applicant is also expected to lead the development of the functional test system and performing functional testing of the student satellite MIST, supervising students as well as actively working on implementation. The test system uses National Instruments (NI) TestStand as a test manager, which uses Python scripts and classes and C# programs to communicate to hardware and other software pieces involved in controlling MIST.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 

Preferred qualifications

Professional- and subject-related skills:

  • What is expected of the applicant is thus a strong interest in having a large-scale view of a system, as well as delving deep in its details.
  • Applicable practical skills are knowledge of Python and embedded programming mostly on Arduinos.
  • C# programming is a strong merit.
  • Experience with hardware and software for attitude determination and control.
  • Experience working with electronic hardware is also a merit.

Other preferred qualifications:

  • Collaborative working style vis-a-vis other project participants.
  • Independence in decision-making and daily work organization.
  • Experience of supervision of students.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
