KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Engineering Sciences

Job description

G-protein coupled receptors are membrane proteins that convert binding of chemicals in the extracellular domain into cellular signals that alter the cell’s function. Their dysfunction underlies many diseases and these receptors are thus one of the main classes of drug targets. Dopamine receptors, in particular, are implicated in Parkinson’s disease.

The postdoc candidate will participate in a project aiming to design dopamine receptors that can signal in response to the binding of dopamine metabolites. The postdoc will carry out molecular dynamics simulations, including enhanced sampling, which will support the experimental work carried out in Uppsala University and Karolinska Institute.
