Third-cycle subject: program: “Sustainable Development, Environmental Science and Engineering”, subject “Sustainability studies”
FibReLoop is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA) Doctoral Network aiming to promote industrial implementation of circular strategies for composites, in applications such as wind turbines or vechicles. Circular solutions are not inherently sustainable, but such claims need to be supported by systematic assessment, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). In early stages of technological development, LCA faces challenges due to lack of industrial-scale data, which is addressed in the emerging field prospective LCA (pLCA). FibreLoop is now recruiting 14 PhD candidates across the EU. In this project, you will develop methodology for pLCA of novel composite recycling processes and recycled materials. The project involves pLCA method development, data collection, potentially tools development in Python, and qualitative methods to investigate socio-technical dimensions of influential market factors.
