Job description

The AICell Lab in the Department of Applied Physics at KTH and Science
for Life Laboratory is seeking a motivated research student assistant (forskningsamanuens) to
join our team. The lab focuses on developing AI systems for data-driven cell and molecular
biology, and this position will support various projects involving software tools for
crowdsourcing image annotation, facilitating AI model training, and powering smart
microscopy systems.


The position will involve both research and engineering, including the development of ML
infrastructure for training and serving models. You will play a key role in advancing AI-driven
biology by improving systems that facilitate automated scientific exploration and contribute
to the lab's mission of developing novel AI methods for cell and molecular biology. The ideal
candidate is passionate about machine learning, adaptable to working on different projects,
and has strong communication skills to thrive in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • You should be admitted to first or second-level cycle education at a  Swedish university 
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in English as it is required in daily work.

Preferred qualifications

  • Student at KTH
  • Experience in fullstack development, particularly with Python and Javascript.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and generative AI, including LLMs and diffusion
    models.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and observability tools.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to adapt to new challenges
