Job description

The Director for Integrated Research Transport Lab (ITRL) has an overall responsibility for the development of the research center. The work description includes to operatively lead the development of future research programs at ITRL. The activities are performed together with the ITRL manager and representatives for ITRL partner organizations. Work assignments further includes to actively search for new partners to the center and to attract further research funding. The director is a bridge between researchers at ITRL and partner organizations. Responsibilities can include developing budgets and financial follow-ups and responsibilities for personnel and staff. The director has a strategic ability, experiences from project management and experiences from collaboration between industry and academia.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree 
  • A PhD degree in an area of relevance for ITRL:s activities
  • Experiences from management and leadership of research programs/projects. Have an established network within industry and public sector within the domains of ITRL (transport, logistics, vehicles)
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
  • Proactive and initiative-driven approach.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues, with a particular focus on gender equality.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experiences from research and academic work as well as from industry collaborations.
  • As a person, you are scientifically skilled and capable of conducting and leading research work.
  • We value if you have strong pedagogical skills and can communicate complex ideas in an accessible way.
  • It is advantageous if you have the ability to ensure that research results are applied in practice.
  • We value if you have experience in communicating research and development work to diverse audiences.
  • It is advantageous if you have experience in developing and leading operations and personnel.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The employment is valid until further notice (permanent post) according to agreement.
