Job description

Syrén's research group is recruiting a research engineer for development of methods for protein design with applications in chemicals and pharma. The research is financed by VINNOVA. The successful candidate will implement leading computational methods for protein design to contribute to a more sustainable society.

The research engineer's duties include:

  • Computer-based design of proteins for selective generation of building blocks
  • Implementation of bioinformatic methods to tailor proteins and enzymes
  • Research conducted in this area is conducted at low TRL levels

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in chemistry, biotechnology or equivalent competence. 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in protein engineering, molecular biology and work with protein structures in the computer and bioinformatics.

The candidate should have good subject-related and professional skills. It is meritorious if the candidate have awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality. The candidate should also have collaborative abilities and be able to work with good independence. Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
