Job description

One PostDoc position is available, where the PostDoc is expected to coordinate research activities within a research group in Communication Systems Division, take leading roles in international projects, conduct world-class scientific research, publish in leading journals and conferences, and supervise MSc and co-supervise PhD students.

The postdoc will work on wireless network design and network performance evaluation. Machine learning and optimization tools will be used together for dynamic resource allocation considering both cloud and radio resources. Current research domains include but are not limited to the following: (1) vehicular communications, (2) aerial communications, (3) mmWave/THz communications. The candidate need to have experience at least one of the following sub-topics:

  • Interference management, load balancing, and beamforming and MIMO algorithms,
  • Joint communication, computation and sensing,
  • Integrated satellite and terrestrial networks,
  • 3D wireless networks.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent foreign degree.This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Research expertise in Wireless Networks in combination with Machine Learning or Data Analytics
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong skills in Matlab/C++/Python
  • The ability to follow new research trends and develop ideas and problem formulations independently
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities to work within an international team of researchers and students in different projects
  • Expresses yourself well in English in speech and writing, as it is required in the daily work

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Proficiency in applied machine learning techniques within the field of communications
  • Hands-on experience in designing AI-assisted resource allocation algorithms

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment

The position offered is for, at the most, two years.
