Job description

PDC is seeking a new member to join its team of research software engineers. The successful candidate will become part of the Scientific Services Group, which is tasked to develop software, and services, enabling research which can streamline data analysis and workflows for scientists at KTH and across Sweden.

In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of VIAMD, a tool for visualizing and interactively analyzing chemistry simulations. Additionally, you will lead collaboration efforts with researchers at the Wallenberg Wood Science Center (WWSC) and support molecular dynamics simulations of materials studied at WWSC.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A doctoral degree, or an equivalent foreign degree, in scientific molecular visualization. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made
• Advanced experience in software programming languages like C/C++
• Long experience in developing 3D graphic applications with tools like OpenGL, OpenCL, CUDA
• Good communication skills with users to inform them of our services
• Good knowledge of the English language
• Knowledge of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality

Preferred qualifications

• A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
• The applicant should have good connections with Swedish network of users that make use of Swedish supercomputer resources today, and within networks focusing on molecular visualization
• We consider it favorable if the applicant has a broad knowledge of programming languages commonly used in this particular area today
• Experience of developing and leading visualization project will be viewed as favorable

About the employment
