Job description

The research will be conducted in the Physics Division in close collaboration with world leading CMOS design engineers and scientist locally and within INFN, Turin, Italy. The aim of the research is to provide the next generation of sensors for molecular imaging and is supported by a new ERC advanced grant. You will play an important role in a team that will build the next generation instruments for molecular imaging, the future for what is currently used in hospitals around the world to detect cancer and cardiovascular disease. The sensors will have integrated analog and digital mixed CMOS electronics with ultra-low power consumption. The research will be performed in close collaboration with the other team members including physicists, image reconstruction experts and medical doctors. The research group had an excellent history of successful spin-off companies, which can lead to future career opportunities.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A graduate degree or an advanced level (higher education) in the research subject or equivalent competence. 
  • Expertise in analog and digital IC design
  • Written and spoken English proficiency, as it is required in daily work
  • Strong motivation, ability to work independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work well in a team while maintaining a high degree of independence and responsibility for your tasks.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Goal- and results-oriented mindset.

Preferred qualifications

  • Contributed to successful CMOS design tape-outs, in industry and/or academia
  • Experience from design of front-end electronics for radiation sensors
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.

About the employment
