Job description

The KTH Climate Action Centre, a multidisciplinary hub dedicated to advancing climate mitigation and adaptation in synergy with all UN Sustainable Development Goals, is seeking a Senior Researcher to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will provide strategic advice on our research direction, foster connections with Swedish and international climate policy arenas, actively participate in impactful projects, and drive funding initiatives through leading and contributing to project proposals.

Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our vision of supporting the achievement of just world with net zero carbon emissions, and climate-resilient and sustainable societies.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree (in the subject of environmental sciences or international development)·        
  • Excellent oral and written English, as it is used in daily work·        
  • At least 15 years research experience in climate and sustainable development·        
  • Deep understanding of climate adaptation and mitigation, including the global policy landscape and the development agendas·        
  • Proven experience with leadership roles in multistakeholder projects and research initiatives, including with national governments as stakeholders·        
  • The ability to work towards research results being utilised in practice
  • The ability to inform about research and development work
  • Experience with the Swedish climate policy landscape
  • As a person, you are flexible, can work independently, and are stable in your daily work, as the job will require you to handle various projects and tasks while meeting deadlines under time pressure

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong publication record in academia     
  • Knowledge of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Proven ability to secure research project funding
  • Collaborative abilities
