Job description

The Division of Decision and Control Systems is currently looking for a research engineer with an engineering background and interest in physics-informed machine learning, mathematics, and learning for control. The successful candidate will join a world-renowned team on the interdisciplinary project: developing physics-informed machine learning models for control. We are pioneers in exploring the synergy between physics-informed learning and its transformative impact on control systems.

The Division of Decision and Control Systems conducts fundamental research in networked control systems, cyber-physical systems, system identification, and transport systems. Industrial projects involve partners such as Hitachi Energy, ABB, Ericsson, and Scania. A major part of the research is conducted within the framework of the Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program. We have a large academic network and collaborate with researchers at Caltech, MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford, among others.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Good command in English, as it is required in the daily work.
  • Knowledge of Python or similar programming language.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues, with specific focus on gender equality
  • Collaborative abilities
  • Independence
  • Familiarity with Tensorflow or PyTorch
  • Some background in machine learning or physics-informed neural networks

Great emphasis will be placed on personal skills.
